Jake Green Band is not your average blues band. 

With remarkably experienced musicians and an extraordinarily strong lead vocal, the band not only aims to venture outside of the boundaries of convention, but also has the technical foundation to do so. The sound of this power trio is an artful mix of blues rock, heavy shuffles and heart-wrenching slow blues, sure to reverberate in your chest and soul.

Jake Green Band released its long-awaited first studio album "Plugging in" in October 2015, to follow the live album from the Malmo Festival in 2011. It consists of 12 original songs which have all been roadtested thoroughly live over the past years.

The band members span 30 years in age and professional experience in the music industry. This is perhaps what creates the unique combination of solid, traditional blues craftsmanship and elements of other styles of music from the past three decades.

Guitarist and singer Jake Green has won the "Danish blues name of the year 2017" award, and has played with just about everyone in the Danish blues scene, not least as a steady host since 2006 at the legendary Thursday Night Blues Jam at Mojo Blues Bar in central Copenhagen. Jake has also wielded his signature green Gibson guitar on the foreign stages of Austin, New York, London, Norway, Thailand, Italy and Spain to great acclaim. 

Bass player Jens Simonsen is an alumnus of the Musicians Institute of California and has toured the world and recorded hundreds of albums both as a musician and as producer and sound technician.

Apart from regular weekend concerts at Mojo Blues Bar and other venues around Denmark, the band has played a plethora of festivals, recently Copenhagen blues festival, Odense Jam Days, Randers bluesfestival and Malmo festival and also opened for Kenny Wayne Shepherd band in Amager Bio.

Tonight's drummer Asmus Jensen is a wellknown super established blues drummer. Played with a lot of Local Bands, legendary Delta Blues Band and for some years, the drummer in Europe with Omar Dykes - Omar & the Howlers.

Med usædvanligt garvede musikere, samt en ekstraordinær stærk vokal, har bandet den tekniske formåen til at strække sig uden for grænserne af konventionerne. Lyden af denne power trio er et kunstfærdigt mix af blues og rock, med tunge groovy shuffles og hjerteskærende slow blues der giver genlyd i både krop og sjæl.

Jake Green Band's tredje album "Seven Years After" blev udgivet i December 2019, som opfølger på deres studio plade "Plugging In" fra 2015. Jake Green Band udgiver generelt kun originale sange der er blevet roadtested grundigt, men "Seven Years After" indeholder deres første udgivne cover nummer; Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe".

Medlemmerne i bandet spænder over 30 år i alder og professionel erfaring i musik industrien. Det er måske det der giver den unikke kombination af solidt, tradionelt blues håndværk med elementer af andre stilarter fra de sidste 30 år. Med 10 år i samme konstellation, hundredevis af koncerter og 3 plader bag sig, er de en velsmurt maskine der dog formår at vedligeholde spontanitet og spilleglæde til hver eneste af deres koncerter.

Sanger og guitarist Jakob Green blev udnævnt til "Årets bluesnavn 2017" og har spillet med mere eller mindre alle på den danske blues scene, ikke mindst som en af de faste værter på den legendariske torsdags blues jam på Mojo blues bar i København, siden 2006. Jakob har også svinget sin signatur grønne Gibson guitar på udenlandske scener (USA, England, Skandinavien, Thailand, Italien, Ungarn mfl.) til megen ros.

Bassist Jens Simonsen er uddannet på Musicians Institute of California og har turneret verden tynd og indspillet utallige plader som både musiker, producer og lydtekniker.

Trommeslager Niels Ratzer er en levende legende i Dansk musik. Tidligere har han spillet med Karsten Vogel, Frontline, The End, Linie 3, Amin Jensen, One Two, Bob Ricketts Group, Bjarne Roupé Group, Bo Stief Chasing Dreams, Countdown m.f. samt spillet i utallige TV performances og teaterforestillinger.


Ud over koncerter i hele Danmark og Norge, har bandet desuden spillet på et hav af festivaller, senest Copenhagen blues festival, Odense Jam Days, Randers City Blues festival, Malmø festival, samt Svalbard Dark Season bluesfestival - og har spillet support for Kenny Wayne Shepherd band, George Thorogood, og Walter Trout.
