Blues meets hypnotic West African grooves as TogoRhino takes the stage at Mojo. The band creates a deep, pulsating sound filled with nerve, improvisation, and sheer joy of playing — music that is felt as much in the body as it is heard.

With the album "Tales of Bobbi Niger," TogoRhino has established itself as one of the most original acts on the Danish roots scene. Often described as trance blues or desert blues, but at its core, this is about groove, intensity, and powerful musical interplay. Their sound draws inspiration from artists such as Tinariwen and Ali Farka Touré, as well as blues legends like Howlin' Wolf and Ry Cooder.

The band was born from a now-legendary jam right here at Mojo Blues Bar, where Alain Apaloo brought together Peter Nande, Sal Dibba, and Olav Poulsen. The chemistry was immediate — and ever since, TogoRhino has been synonymous with intimate and unpredictable live performances.

These four seasoned musicians take the stage without a safety net, letting the music find its path in the moment. The result is warm, raw, and deeply compelling.

Ofte beskrevet som trance blues eller ørkenblues, men i virkeligheden handler det om groove, intensitet og stærkt sammenspil. Bandet opstod efter en legendarisk jam på Mojo Blues Bar, hvor Alain Apaloo samlede Peter Nande, Sal Dibba og Olav Poulsen. Kemien var der øjeblikkelig — og siden har TogoRhino været synonym med nærværende og uforudsigelige koncerter.

De fire rutinerede musikere går på scenen uden sikkerhedsnet og lader musikken finde vej i nuet. Resultatet er varmt, råt og dybt medrivende.
