On Sunday, July 6th the streets of Copenhagen's old town will be transformed into a little piece of New Orleans with a street parade—aka Second Line—featuring one of New Orleans' new and most exciting bands, the Trombone Shorty Foundation Alumni Brass Band. After the parade, there will be an after party at Mojo Blues Bar with a live set from Esben Just and the TSF Alumni Brass Band.

What do the star musicians of the future from New Orleans sound like? You can get the answer to that question on Sunday, July 6th when the TSF Alumni Brass Band spreads funky grooves, jazz, and soul in the streets of Copenhagen. 

The TSF Alumni Brass Band features the next generation of brass band musicians from New Orleans. Made up of Alumni from Trombone Shorty Foundation’s Programs, this group of talented young people helps carry the city's cultural heritage forward. Participants from Trombone Shorty Academy have traveled to Los Angeles, New York, Nashville, and Cuba, as well as sharing the Tipitina's stage with Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews every year at the foundation's fundraiser, Shorty Fest. Taught by members of the Soul Rebels, Rebirth Brass Band, and New Breed Brass Band, the Trombone Shorty Academy brings a fresh perspective to a musical tradition that dates back over 100 years. The future is confidently in the hands of these young performers, and you can experience their amazing music face to face in the streets of Copenhagen.

Legendary Danish pianist and singer Esben Just has been the ultimate ambassador of New Orleans culture in Denmark for several decades. Through solo projects, tours in Denmark with musicians from New Orleans, countless trips to New Orleans, and bands like the Esben Just trio and SP-JUST-FROST, he is a unique musical link between Denmark and New Orleans. 

The parade starts at Rådhuspladsen and goes to Copenhagen's legendary blues bar, Mojo Blues, where there is an after-party.

About the Gia Maione Prima Foundation:
In 2011, the Gia Maione Prima Foundation was established with the assistance of long-time friend and counsel, Anthony J. Sylvester of Sherman Atlas Sylvester & Stamelman LLP. Gia Maione Prima was a singer and the widow of Louis Prima, the famous jazz musician, singer, and composer from New Orleans. The GMPF makes donations to tax-exempt organizations supporting and encouraging an appreciation for American jazz, American popular music, and jazz performance as well as the fine arts.

About the Trombone Shorty Foundation:
Since its inception in 2012, the Trombone Shorty Foundation has mentored musically inclined New Orleans youth to develop professional skills through mentorship, scholarships, instruction, work-based learning, and real-world touring. Utilizing the Trombone Shorty Academy, Music Industry Apprenticeship Program, Fredman Music Business Institute, and the Shorty Foundation's Cultural Experiences program, the Foundation works to ensure its students will be leaders in the preservation and proliferation of New Orleans music and culture for generations to come.

Søndag d. 6.juli omdannes gaderne i indre by i København til et lille stykke New Orleans med en vaskeægte street parade feat. et af New Orleans' nye og allermest spændende bands - Trombone Shorty Academy Alumni Band. Efter paraden er der after party på Mojo Blues Bar med live sæt fra Esben Just og Trombone Shorty Academy Alumni Band. LET'S TAKE IT TO THE STREET! 

Hvordan lyder fremtidens stjernemusikere fra New Orleans? Netop det kan du få svar på denne søndag når Trombone Shorty Academy Alumni Band spreder funky grooves, jazz og soul i KBH's gader. Bandets unge musikere er nøje udvalgt af Troy Andrew AKA Trombone Shorty, der er en af tidens allerstørste stjerne fra New Orleans. 

Trombone Shorty Academy Alumni Band er den næste generation af brass band-musikere fra New Orleans. Denne gruppe talentfulde unge, der består af studerende fra Trombone Shorty Academy-programmet, dyrker byens kulturarv og bringer den videre ind i fremtiden. De rejser verden rundt og har bl.a. optrådt Los Angeles, New York og Cuba, ligesom de har delt det legendariske New Orleans spillested Tipitinas scene med Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews hvert år til Shorty Fest under New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Med undervisere fra legendariske brass bands som Soul Rebels, Rebirth Brass Band og New Breed Brass Band, bringer Trombone Shorty Academy et nutidigt bud på New Orleans' musikalske tradition, der går mere end 100 år tilbage. Fremtiden er med disse unge kunstnere, og nu kan det oplevelse live direkte på gaderne i KBH K. til årets Copenhagen Jazz Festival. 

Den danske piano- og sanglegende Esben Just har gennem flere årtier været den ypperste formidler af New Orleans kultur i Danmark. Gennem solo projekter, tournéer i DK med musikere fra New Orleans, utallige rejser til New Orleans og bands som Esben Just trio og SP-JUST-FROST, er han et unikt musikalsk link mellem Danmark og New Orleans. 

Paraden starter på Rådhuspladsen og går via rute til Københavns legendariske bluesscene, Mojo Blues Bar, hvor der er after-party.
